2005 Driving for Surviving
Melanoma Charity Golf Classic

Upcoming Events

January 10-11, 2009

Come visit our booth at the NBC4 Health and Fitness Expo in Washington, DC.

Our 3rd annual event in 2005 was our best ever, as we once again enjoyed a full field of golfers and were able to raise $25,000 for melanoma research at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

The golf classic was held on Friday, September 16 at Bristow Manor Golf Club. It was a beautiful, though very warm day. Ruth’s Chris Steak House of Fairfax again provided free appetizers for our participants during registration and contributed prizes for our putting contest, auction, and raffle.

For the first time, the Foundation offered free skin cancer screenings, courtesy of Dr. Brian Ransdell, Dr. David Uptmore, and Kaitlyn Bloomquist, who all made the trip up from M.D. Anderson to support our event. Nearly half of the participants took advantage of this important service.

We had 59 hole sponsors this year, and numerous individuals and merchants donated goods and services for use in our auction and raffle. We really appreciate your support! Click here to read the event program, which recognizes all of our sponsors, donors, and participants.

Sheehy Nissan-Mitsubishi of Manassas again provided a car (a beautiful Nissan 350 Z) and other prizes for a hole-in-one on any of the par 3 holes, but alas, no one collected.
